A problem was discovered where the shouts inside iShoutboxes were only visible for a second before reverting to an empty shoutbox when loaded in Opera browser.  Shut up It seems that Opera does not handle browser return code 304, and therefore showing a blank page. This was confirmed by a bug report at:

http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=676132

I have added tiny piece of detection, where the ajax refresh only works if the browser is anything other than Opera. This means that people using Opera (about 2%) will not enjoy an automatic refreshing shoutbox  Frown

This will be removed once Opera plugs the bug.

If you have a shoutbox at http://www.ishoutbox.com/ , then suggesting a skin can be done through your shoutbox administration panel. There is no longer a need to manually fill in the data as displayed in the first post.  Bling bling

For the past few years, we have been working on a much more improved version of the shoutbox software. A few months ago, we started using the new software on one of our other shoutbox domains (ishoutbox.com), and so far it has been running quite smoothly.  Bling bling

At some point during the design process, it became clear that the old version was no longer upgradable. Among others, due to a new url structure. It took a while, but we finally made the decision to not upgrade the Chat4all Shoutbox system. This means that from this point on, no new shoutboxes can be created on the shoutbox.chat4all.net site. The old system will continue to function as usual, so that shoutbox owners who do not wish to upgrade, will continue to be able to use the service. All shoutbox owners currently using the system have been notified.

All links on the http://shoutbox.chat4all.net/ site have been updated and are pointing towards the new URL. The admin section of the old shoutbox system can be reached through the Old Login link in the menu at the left.

Current Chat4all Shoutbox users can upgrade by registering a new shoutbox at the http://www.ishoutbox.com. After registering, the old shoutbox data (shouts, skin, settings) can be imported via the administration panel.

We invite you to check out the new features, and register your new shoutbox at:

http://www.ishoutbox.com

Questions about this can be posted in this forum, or open a ticket in our support system.

Interesting, i never thought of using a shoutbox in a sidebar. If you have used it with our shoutbox system, can you send me the code you use to add it to the sidebar so i can test its workings?

And is there possible to use own css file with iShoutbox?

You can change the css values (and much more) through the shoutbox admin panel. This allows you to change the colours and behaviour of the shoutbox. It is not possible to upload your own css file.

I mean desktop gadget for vista/w7

edit:
This shoutbox is one of many functions what are included in one gadget.

Idea with desktop gadget is to show messages in main gadget and on bigger flyout page you can write new messages.
And is there possible to use own css file with iShoutbox?

Hello
I'm looking for shoutbox what I can add to sidebar gadget.
Current shoutbox what I use works fine on website but unforunately sending new shouts do not work in sidebar gadget.

I know that I could create new iShoutbox for me but if it does not work in sidebar gadget then it just a waste of time.
So, I was just wondering have someone tested this iShoutbox in sidebar gadget?
