Due to an explosion of spam messages on our hosted shoutboxes, we implemented a spamtrap system. This system has been in use for well over a year now, and it has significantly reduced spam. The spamtrap works by refusing to post any shout containing a certain word or word combination in the "website" and "message" field. Upon finding such word, the shout is not posted, and a confusing error is shown.

Due to the fact that spammers always try to offer their dubious services, the spamtrap database is expanding gradually. With this expansion also comes the increasing chance of bonafide users encountering this spam detection system. The reason for this is that spammers often use free hosting sites to host their websites. Any free host that is found to host such site, and which url is spammed on our service, is added to the database.

Below you will find a link to the current updated spam domain and word list. Unfortunately, due to its size, i could not post the full list here in this topic.

Should you find any spam on your shoutbox, then please let us know by sending me a PM with the spam message and link.

The current spamlist: http://www.chat4all.net/spamlist.txt

Note: If you are a current iShoutbox.com user, then this system is not implemented there. The software on ishoutbox.com predates the one we use on xignashout and chat4all shout. This will be rectified once the new version is completed.
