That third one is taken from mume, i believe. The pictures are very nice, but wouldn't the info in the motd drown beside art like that? There are also a lot of people who use java chats or even phones, would those be able to display this?

its all text siiw so i guess it shlould be right but you cant please everyone
and i think maybe a little art in the motd might just might make one or two more people
read it. now there would be a novelty ppl acctually reading the motd

i know what ascii art is 8) i have even made some in the good old amiga days. Those ascii pics were usually made to fit an 80 char screen. What i meant was the colour and window width limits in certain clients.

Colours in the MotD is rather complicated, and the width is very restricted; about 70 chars I believe, not counting any format codes.

The pirate one wouldn't fly anyway, since it could suggest that we are a warez/piracy network, which we'd rather avoid

The first one is too gory, seeing that we also have some christian and children rooms on the server..

only the mume one slightly appeals to me, but they all don't really give a nice neutral representation of Chat4All imho.
