Unplanned downtime 11/06/2007

As you may have noticed, we suffered some severe downtime from 11/06/2007 at 2am CET until around noon. The problem was that only our main IP address (not chat related) was reachable, while th eother two IP's were only reachable from teh internal network. It took a while for the server provider to figure out what the problem was. The cause of the problem was a misconfigured switch. It's beyond me however to understand how a swtich can magically misconfigure itself.... all by itself in the middle of the night. But still, thats supposedly what happened. Blush

We hope that our service availability will once again be what everyone expects it to be, since the past couple of weeks (since the server was moved to a new DataCenter) we have had quite a few small hick-ups. Frustrated
